Hey Micah, yeah I did know that about the quasi-arrest. What Jon Foreman usually did (maybe still does?) is that he announces on Twitter where he will be jamming on acoustic AFTER the show. Usually he can do that, and it is never a big deal. This time the police officer broke it up, even though it was totally quiet enough to hear him sing and play without amplification... It was an interesting thing that got dismissed after it saw the light of day. Just thought the whole thing he usually does is really cool for the fans...

I think you already know what I think of this album - I've only listened to it a million times and just keep loving it! It has created some interesting opportunities for some deep conversations with my kids, especially Hailey. I love to see them playing it on their ipod's and singing along!

I love how the album comes full circle.

In Afterlife:
"Cause everyday the world is made
A chance to change But I feel the same
And I wonder
Why would I wait till I die to come alive?
I'm ready now
I'm not waiting for the afterlife

I still believe we could live forever
You and I we begin forever now
Forever now
Forever"

From Where I Belong:
"And on the final day I die
I want to hold my head up high
I want to tell You that I tried
To live it like a song

And when I reach the other side
I want to look You in the eye
And know that I've arrived
In a world where I belong"

"I still believe we can live forever
You and I we begin forever now
Forever now
Forever
I still believe in us together
You and I we're here together now
Together now
Forever now
Forever now
Forever now"

It's just well - Awesome!

I love how totally human Jon is in the blog. We all fall short thankfully we have grace.

#3 really hit home for me as did the article. It's so easy to go on cruise control and float along with the rest of the crowd. Sometimes even when you think you're awake, you're really not. Each day feels like the one before, perpetually moving towards the same end point that we all think we need to get to. But that point is a different mirage for each of us... the only commonality being that none of us will actually get there. The goals keep changing... even if we reach it, the elusive goal changes again.

The beauty and saving grace is that, every once in awhile we're challenged. It could be a moment during worship, a significant event in our lives, a humbling moment as Jon experience,... and our spiritual dullness is jolted awake. And we see clearly for the first time in a long time. But it takes work to keep that focus. Too often, we're grounded down by the daily toll (twin babies!) and we fall back to our old habits because it's easy and comfortable.

Thanks for the post and the article.

Really deep article. Seems like Jon F. is a normal guy after all.

I, like you Randy, been listening to these guys ever since. Did you know Jon F. got arrested (Okay, pulled aside by the law) for playing acoustic guitar outside a venue but then got dropped.

I personally like, Dark Horses of Vice Verses.

Good response, Randy. I applaud our Executive Secretary who made it clear that we aren't racists. And the fact that one church got it wrong shouldn't reflect on anyone else but them.

Shelly, I've always thought you were a wonderful mother, and I appreciate your thoughtful way of motivating the girls to achieve their very best. I plan to share the link to this blog on my Facebook page.

Happy Mother's Day!

I've started blogging for books as well, and I enjoyed reading your review. I plan to donate my books to EHC's library, so remind me when you come up to have you pick them up. Mom

Great message and great people. We are living in troubled and troubling times, but God's hand is not short that He cannot save. God bless all who are ministering for Him around the world. Thanks for sharing this story.

I got chills and felt convicted after reading "On Love and Acceptance". In a world dominated by materialstic desires and a rat race where I'm constantly stacking myself against immaterial criterias... it took a near crisis to open my eyes to what's really important. Sadly, the window is clear only too briefly and I slip back into my complacent ways/thoughts. Truly great people, I think, have the ability to keep that focus and clarity more than others in order to lead them.
